LETTERS: SUGGESTION FOR AN APT DESCRIPTION

To the editor:

My knowledge of the global-warming issue is too inadequate to argue either the pros or cons of the matter. However, from what I have read it appears to me that there is room for legitimate debate on either side. What concerns me is how quickly liberals often resort to name-calling and putting labels on people who may not agree with their point of view. Case in point is Alan Journet in the first paragraph of his April 30 letter referring to Jo Ann Emerson as "our radical right-wing U.S. Rep. Jo Ann Emerson." If Mr Journet would remove that phrase from his letter and substitute "radical left-wing professor Alan Journet," he might find that paragraph to be a fitting description of himself.
