LETTERS: NOT MANY HOME FLAGS HONORED VETERANS

This article comes from our electronic archive and has not been reviewed. It may contain glitches.

To the editor: We moved to Cape Girardeau from Charleston, S.C. There it seemed to us that almost everyone flew an American flag on holidays. This may have been so because the local newspaper rewarded subscribers with a free American flag. Now we live in Cape and find it to be a flag-flying town too. On Veterans Day I drove around several residential areas and found fruit baskets, Snoopy in various costumes, fall leaves, Halloween pumpkins, and many windsocks. I saw comparatively few American flags. We flew ours. Did you?JILL VENEZIANCape Girardeau
