LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: RETURNED PURSE RESTORES FAITH IN YOUNGSTERS

To the editor:

There still are some honest, hard-working youngsters out there.

During rush-hour shopping recently, I left my purse in a shopping cart on the parking lot of the local Wal-Mart Supercenter. It was nearly two hours before I realized the purse was missing. Any woman who has gone through this knows the sinking, sickening feeling you get the instant your realize your purse is gone.

Just them I remembered the last time I saw the purse was when the cart was being replaced. It was sitting right on top of the cart. In the meantime, I had driven over 15 miles to my home.

Frantically, I called the store with no hope at all that it would ever be seen again. I was told that the purse had been turned in to the office by one of the cart boys. Not only had he brought in this purse, but another one as well. My cash, credit cards and checkbook were all exactly as I had left them.

This restores my faith in the human race, the younger generation in particular.

The local Wal-Mart is to be commended for having this honest, considerate person in their employ. I will treat the cart boys with much more respect in the future. They are some fine young men.
