The career of Bill Needle in the world of art has spanned half a century. Throughout that career he has sought to spread art knowledge through education, speaking engagements and workshops for every age level.

Needle's accomplishments have been recognized by the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri, which honored Needles with its Otto Dingeldein Award for his "impact ont he cultural development of the community.

In addition to a career in education, including several years as chairman of the art department at Southeast Missouri State University, Needle also is a painter, lecturer and goodwill ambassador for the arts. He is known to many Southeast Missourians for his work in the field of Egyptology, which still occupies much of his time.

Congratulations to Bill Needles upon being selected to receive the Dingeldein award -- and for his continued interest in involving the public in the arts.
