SURE, SHE CAN PLAY A VIOLIN UNTIL YOUR HEAD SPINS, BUT DID YOU KNOW SHE CAN PARALLEL PARK TOO?

Southeast Missouri is blessed with so many talented individuals, young and old, that we can all be proud of this corner of the state. One of the brightest stars in our shared crown is young Liesl Schoenberger, virtuoso violinist and champion fiddler.

Folks who know Liesl -- including fellow students at Notre Dame High School -- agree she is not only talented, but she is truly a pleasant person to be around.

Liesl may one day rule the stage of major symphony orchestras. But most of us stand in awe of her most recent accomplishment: She passed her driving exam behind the wheel of the family van.

Three cheers from all of us who never mastered parallel parking!
