CARDS WITH MISSING NUMBERS ARE GOOD IDEA

This article comes from our electronic archive and has not been reviewed. It may contain glitches.

After leaving several numbers out of its telephone directory this year, Southwestern Bell is distributing 75,000 cards containing the missing phone numbers.

The cards include the numbers for Cape Girardeau schools, county offices and the Cape Girardeau Crime Stoppers program.

The cards are being placed in strategic locations around the city, and about 6,000 of the cards were delivered to the Cape Girardeau School District office to be sent home with students. The cards are about the size that can be tucked into a phone book.

Errors -- in this case omissions can happen, and it's good to see Southwestern Bell is trying to remedy the situation in timely fashion.
