Congratulations to Southeast students who will graduate Saturday

Thousands will gather Saturday to celebrate the accomplishments of Southeast Missouri State University students, when the school holds its graduation commencement ceremonies.

One thousand, four hundred students are scheduled to graduate, including 1,105 undergraduates, 268 master's degree candidates and 28 specialist candidates. Nearly 400 of those will graduate with honors, including 86 who will graduate summa cum laude (3.9 to 4.0 GPA); and 117 magna cum laude (3.75 to 3.89 GPA). Twenty-eight students will graduate with a perfect 4.0 GPA.

As has been recent custom, two ceremonies will be held at the Show Me Center to accommodate the volume of graduates.

The College of Education, Health and Human Studies and the Harrison College of Business and Computing will have their commencement at 10 a.m. while the other colleges will have theirs at 2 p.m. Missouri Gov. Mike Parson will deliver the address at 2 p.m. The guest speaker for the morning ceremony will be Dr. Kevin Dickson who chairs the management department in the Harrison College of Business and Computing.

For those graduating, it's a wonderful time to celebrate a long-deserved accomplishment. We wish every student a hearty congratulations and best wishes for their future.
