Marvin Louis Woodfin, 69, died Monday, April 8, 2019, after a two-and-a-half-year battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) at his home in Haskell, Arkansas.
He was born Jan. 30, 1950, in Lutesville, Missouri, to Louis and Edith Eaker Woodfin.
Marvin was a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University and a member of Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity. He was veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Vet Corps at SEMO. Marvin had a successful career and enjoyed his retirement years.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy Hampton; stepdaughters, Elisabeth Hayer (Tom) of Bryant, Arkansas, and Stephanie Hampton (Travis Elkins) of Seattle; grandchildren, Gabriel and Elijah Hayer; sisters, Evelyn Stover of Cape Girardeau, Wanda (Kent) Hoffmeister of Mandeville, Louisiana, and Shirley (Ron) Deck of Marble Hill, Missouri; seven nieces; a nephew; 12 great-nieces and -nephews; and two great-great-nieces.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in the Baker Cemetery in Marble Hill.
