Cape Evening Optimists support Shop with a Hero

Kristin Ham, President of the Cape Girardeau Evening Optimists Club, presents a $500 check for Shop with a Hero to Det. Orrin Hawkins, Secretary of the Cape Girardeau Regional Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 51. Lodge 51 received donations of $1,650 from the community to help needy kids experience shopping with law enforcement officers, fire fighters, and first responders from Cape Girardeau and Scott County as part of an ongoing community outreach program. Walmart Foundation matches the funds up to $2,500 in support of the event held at the Cape Walmart Supercenter in early December each year.
