The Missouri Veterans Home- Cape Girardeau fed over 500 at their annual Veterans and Family Picnic on May 5. Meat was provided by the Perryville Elks Lodge #2701 and entertainment for the Veterans and their families was provided by The Dinner Singer, Donnie Faulkner of Energy, IL. Volunteer Services also provided face painting and a bounce house for the children.

“Our residents really look forward to this event each year, “said Kristen Pind, Supervisor of Volunteer Services, “they love inviting all of their family members to enjoy the sunshine, the wonderful food provided by our food services and the Perryville Elks and the fun activities for the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Our staff and volunteers put a lot of work into making this event happen for our Veterans and it shows with the growth we experience each year in attendance.”

The picnic is held annually on the first Saturday in May.
