Lisa Leslie announced as Semoball Awards keynote speaker

The big Semoball Awards speaker announcement was made last week at HealthPoint Fitness in Cape Girardeau. This summer’s celebrity keynote speaker will be basketball superstar Lisa Leslie.

Leslie played for the Los Angeles Sparks in the WNBA when the league started in 1997 and through the 2009 season. She earned the league’s MVP in 2001, 2004 and 2006, and played for Team USA’s four gold-medal teams in 1996, 2000, 2004 and 2008.

She’s been a broadcaster for ESPN, SportsNet, Turner and NBC; written a book titled “Don’t Let the Lipstick Fool You”; and appeared in season 15 of “Celebrity Apprentice.” She’s also a wife and mother of two.
