Central Methodist University to Begin Offering Classes at the Perryville Higher Education Cetner

The Perryville Higher Education Center (PHEC) has been an asset to the surrounding community since its inception, allowing students to complete an Associate’s degree with Mineral Area College (MAC), close to home. In an effort to expand the options available to local residents, MAC’s partner, Central Methodist University will be offering classes this fall. This program will allow students to complete a Bachelor’s degree through the PHEC.

Central Methodist University, MAC’s partner since 1989 in Park Hills, is a private liberal arts university, established in 1854. Beginning in fall 2018, CMU plans to offer coursework at the Perryville campus in the following areas: Accounting, Business, Education and Psychology. In addition, CMU plans to offer advising locally for online degrees in the following areas:

-Accounting

-Business

-Child Development

-Computer Science

-Computer Networking

-Criminal Justice

-Education

-Health Services

-Health Care Administration

-Nursing (RN to BSN)

-Public Administration

-Psychology

-Sociology

-Sports Management

According to its Regional Director, Jeff Williams, CMU is a great choice for students in the surrounding area for several reasons, convenience being the most prominent. With plans to offer both advising and coursework locally, CMU students will be able to complete a Bachelor’s degree close to home and/or online. The second advantage cited by Williams is affordability. Central Methodist University is proud to offer highly competitive tuition rates starting at $210.00 per credit hour. Lastly, because CMU is a relatively small entity, students receive a great deal of personal attention and assistance during processes such as scheduling, financial aid, Instructor relationships and overall degree completion.

Central Methodist University will have a regular presence at PHEC throughout the remainder of the spring and upcoming summer semesters to help interested students make a plan for their future.
