SEMO-NASV Celebrates 20th Anniversary

The Southeast Missouri Network Against Sexual Violence (SEMO-NASV) celebrated 20 years of service to over 9,000 child and adult survivors of abuse/assault with an open house on Thursday, December 7th, 2017. SEMO-NASV was formed in 1997 by a group of concerned citizens from the medical, legal and social service professional communities. One of those citizens, Kathy Blevins, a Nurse Practitioner from Chaffee was presented with a Founder's Award at the open house. In the 16 years Kathy served as a Nurse Practitioner and Forensic Interviewer at SEMO-NASV, she provided care to nearly 4,000 children and adults, as well as expert testimony, training, guidance and support for the agency. SEMO-NASV continues to provide forensic services, advocacy and prevention education to nine counties in southeast Missouri.
