What makes you the most qualified candidate for this position?

My desire and passion to see betterment for all children! Elias our youngest son is in Kindergarten at Meadow Heights,this drives me to be involved. I have worked for Swedish Match for 18 years, starting out as a merchandiser and working my way up. I pride myself on commitment,stability and strong values. I will bring those qualities to the school board. My voice will be the voice for the community.

What do you see as the opportunities and challenges in the district?

Meadow Heights has a strong community with great teachers. Every Organization has opportunity for improvement. I believe one of the greatest challenges is keeping up with the ever changing technology, skills and job markets to adequately prepare our students to be thriving,productive and successful members of society.

What are your thoughts on a potential four-day school week?

The proposal for a 4-day school week was voted on in March. The traditional 5-day school week will continue at Meadow Heights. This was the consensus of the community. I have researched the 4-day school week. Just like everything in life there are pros and cons.

How will you communicate your work to your constituents?

I believe it is very important to listen with an open mind and take concerns and needs of the community back to administration. It is also important to communicate back what the administration and board has done to meet their needs. By being active in the community/visiting with the community at school events. I would like to see more people attend school board meetings.

What are the factors on which you will base your decisions as a school board member?

Research,facts and visiting with community members. My decisions will be based on what is best for the students, teachers and the community as a whole. I will apply decisions fairly. I have strong expectations for a safe and productive learning environment for all.
