Delta R-V School Board, 2 terms (1 year as Treasurer)

Alderman, City of Delta

What makes you the most qualified candidate for this position?

I have served on the Board for 2 terms. I am passionate about education and about assisting the students of our district in obtaining the best possible educational experience possible. I am commit to ensuring all of our students have the opportunity to succeed.

What do you see as the opportunities and challenges in the district?

Delta schools have a group of wonderful teachers and staff members. The district has recently hired a new Superintendent and Grade School Principal, both have wonderful visions for our School District and our kids. Challenges our District faces includes keeping up with the demands of new technologies and curriculum. Another challenge faced is the every uncertainty of funding from the State but I feel we have the leadership in place to guide the District.

How will you communicate your work to your constituents?

I encourage all parents and citizens of the District to attend our monthly open school board meetings. The best communication is to be available and to be informed. I attend as many school events as possible to be available to parents to voice any concerns. I listen to parents concerns and bring those concerns to the proper school administration.

What are the factors on which you will base your decisions as a school board member?

Decisions have to based on what is best for our students in the District as a whole. Our job as a Board member is to oversee that our students have the best opportunity possible to receive high quality education to prepare them for the next step in their life.
