Cape Girardeau man dead in South Ellis shooting; major case squad activated

The Cape Girardeau/Bollinger County Major Case Squad has been activated following a shooting in Cape Girardeau that resulted in the death of one man. According to a news release from the Cape Girardeau Police Department, on Wednesday morning at 1:54 a.m. officers received a report of shots fired and a subject struck at the 1200 block of South Ellis. Upon arrival, police located the victim, an unnamed 30-year-old Cape Girardeau resident.
