Thanks to its generous employees, Saint Francis Healthcare System recently raised $250,000 for patients, employees and our community through its Power of One campaign.

Saint Francis merged two previous employee fundraising campaigns, Team One, which raised funds for internal causes that impacted patients and employees, and the Power of Sharing, which raised funds for external charities like United Way of Southeast Missouri. The new campaign, Power of One, raised funds for both.

Saint Francis Healthcare System employees recently donated $7,052 to the United Way of Southeast Missouri through the Power of One Campaign. Power of One debuted in a big way. By the end of the campaign on June 17, employees had contributed to within one percent of the $250,000 goal. A few days after the campaign ended, an anonymous donor contributed enough to meet the goal!

Saint Francis leaders were instrumental in setting a great example for their staff. Ninety-seven percent of leaders donated a total of $52,093 to Power of One. Physicians donated very generously as well, contributing $59,130. Both groups exceeded their $50,000 goal.

Internal funds that benefitted from Power of One were CancerCare, which helps cancer patients with transportation, lodging and supplies; the Caring Fund, which helps employees who face unexpected financial emergencies; and the Sister Esther Fund – which helps patients in need with ancillary expenses they cannot afford. The external charity beneficiaries were Catholic Charities of Southern Missouri and United Way of Southeast Missouri.

The Power of One was a huge success due to the generosity of Saint Francis employees determined to help others!
