Leadership summit at LaCroix grows

La Croix Church recently hosted the annual Global Leadership Summit for the seventh time and saw another attendance increase.

This year's two-day event, which is streamed from a church near Chicago, had 515 registrants in addition to 54 volunteers who assisted with the event.

"It will be two days of hearing and learning from leaders in all sorts of capacities," Angel Hillman, director of business and communication at La Croix Church and a producer of the Global Leadership Summit at the church, told Southeast Missourian reporter Bridget Brown prior to the event. "We walk away feeling refreshed, encouraged and ready to keep doing what we do, only better."

The Global Leadership Summit was also made available to the Southeast Correctional Center. There were 71 inmates who took part -- 40 did so last year -- with 16 volunteers who led the event and small group discussions throughout.

"These volunteers will continue ongoing discussions and continuing education in the prison following The Summit as well," DeAnna Carver, La Croix's promotional strategist, said in an email.

We hope that everyone who partook in this event enjoyed it and will use the messages they heard to better themselves and those around them.
