SEMO Iris Society 'Rainbow Flower' Sale and Auction

Dwarf Iris

In Greek mythology, Iris is the personification of the rainbow and messenger of the gods. Today, the iris is known as the "Rainbow Flower" due to its many colors and long blooming season.

The SEMO Iris Society will sponsor an iris sale and auction open to the public at noon on Sunday, Aug. 7. The event will be held at the University of Missouri Extension Center in Jackson. Club members provide a wide variety of iris rhizomes for sale on the "dollar table." These rhizomes include divisions from nationally known companies as well as unique hybrids from local hybridizers. An auction will follow featuring very new selections from some of the best known growers in the U.S.

Don’t miss this annual opportunity to add a "rainbow of color" to your garden! For more information, please call Cynthia Kothe at (573) 243-7872.
