CVB should have easier access

I have told the city management and the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce over and over again about the extremely poor location of the Cape Girardeau Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), so we learn that the mistake is being perpetuated and money is being wasted.

To be effective in increasing visitors to Cape, the CVB must be located where it is easily found. Downtown, with limited parking and streets difficult to navigate, is not that place!

Just how is an RV with a towed auto and potential visitors loaded with money going to get to the CVB downtown? They ain't even going to try!

I, like many others, travel all over the U.S. by automobile/RV. If we see a visitors bureau on our route, we stop; or else we drive on to our next planned venue and don't spend a dime in that town!

The CVB is about inviting travelers to spend money in Cape. When the invitation is not prominently seen, then the CVB is ineffective. It is as simple as that!

Effectiveness of the CVB is all about location, location, location.

The city has a facility, soon to be two facilities, ideally suited with plenty of parking and easy access for the CVB. Why doesn't our wise city fathers stop wasting tax payer money on rent and use them?
