What do you see as the county commission's role in economic development in Perry County?

Help to remove the burdensome regulatory obstacles in the way of existing and new businesses that want to locate in Perry County. Doing this will help keep employment strong giving Perry County a strong tax base. That money used wisely will keep our infrastructure in good repair, thus attracting good jobs and employees.

What are the major challenges facing Perry County?

We have a very god work force in Perry County with an excellent work ethic. We need more technical training to have better higher paying jobs. Attracting more businesses to Perry County. Expanding our tax base to increase the quality of life for all Perry County Residents. Also with the listing of the Grotto Sculpin on the endangered list we will need to very carefull with water quality

What in your background or education makes you qualified to be Perry County commissioner?

I ran a business (a dairy farm), recently retired from that and being only 57 I needed a new challenge. That business gave me budgeting and problem solving skills, I am on the Perry County Farm Bureau Board, Perry County District 32 Career Center Citizen Advisory Board, Saxony Lutheran High School Board of Regents, University of Missouri Extension Council. In the past I was President of the Missouri Young Farmers Association.

Closing remarks

I want to encourage the people of Perry County to vote on August 2. I bring a lot of leadership skills to the position as well as budget and problem solving knowledge. If you want a conservative, common sense approach to the Perry County Commissioner Position. It would be an honor to serve the people of Perry County
