The River Heritage Quilt Guild hosted its third Quilts of Valor Ceremony Monday, July 11, honoring seven veterans with quilts made by guild members. Two additional quilts were given to veterans at other locations. A Quilt of Valor is handmade by guild members. The members intoduced the veterans and presented them with their quilts and a recognition certificate. The quilt is then draped around the shoulders of the individuals. Each quilt represents our sincere gratitude and deep appreciation for their service, sacrifice and valor to the United States of America and to each of us. The comfort and warmth provided by these quilts in days to come will remind them they are forever in our thoughts and our hearts.
