Ranken Technical College to Open Satellite Campus in Perryville

Ranken Technical College is proud to announce that it will open a new vocational education facility in Perryville, Missouri next year. This key initiative represents another regional investment by Ranken in its effort to evolve and improve the post-secondary education model in the United States. Ranken operates educational facilities in St. Louis and Wentzville Missouri.

Ranken leads today’s education evolution by working closely with industry leaders to identify and develop students that best meet the skills and training required by top local companies. This new satellite campus will help bring more skilled workers to the region and help fill the rising gap in technology jobs.

A ceremony was held Tuesday, June 14 at the Perryville Chamber of Commerce to announce the opening of the new educational facility. This event represented a collaborative effort for the new campus between local, city, and county government officials along with top leaders of several local businesses.

With this new effort, students will have the option to receive a two-year or four-year degree by taking day or night classes while learning in-demand job skills. “An unprecedented amount of our students receive jobs after graduation. We’re actively investing in this region, and Perryville is the next step in expanding our successful education model,” said Stan Shoun, President of Ranken Technical College.

Scott Sattler, Executive Director of the Perry County Economic Development Authority, also stated his support for the new facility, as well as the benefits it will bring to the region. He indicated that several students from Perryville currently attend the St. Louis Ranken Campus, and the satellite school would not only keep future students in the region but also draw students from outside the region to Perryville.

“New Ranken graduates put twenty-eight million dollars on the tax roll in St. Louis, and I’d like to do the same here. There are 13 million unemployed people, but about four million unfilled jobs in the region” added Shoun.

A soft opening of the new facility is expected in January of next year. Ranken Technical College is an accredited private nonprofit degree-granting institution with campuses in St. Louis and Wentzville, Missouri.
