Franklin Graham is coming to Missouri

Franklin Graham and his Decision America Tour 2016 is coming to the Capitol South steps in Jefferson City on May 17 to lead in a noon prayer rally.

Graham, the eldest son of evangelist Billy Graham, is the president and CEO of Samaritan’s Purse since 1979 and the president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association since 2001.

Graham is traveling to all 50 states in 2016 to hold prayer rallies at each state Capitol. He kicked off his tour on the Capitol steps in Des Moines, Iowa, in January.

As in the ten state rallies held to date, Graham is urging Christians to pray, to vote for candidates that stand for Biblical values, and to engage in their community. He is concerned that America is being “stripped of its Christian heritage.”

According to Graham, “America is at a crossroads, and I believe we should take every opportunity to stand up for the things of God and His Word.”

He believes that the country is in trouble. He says that people are looking for answers to the problems they have in life.

Graham affirms, “I can tell you right now, without God there is no hope. This next election may be the most important election maybe in the history of our nation.”

While Graham emphasizes the importance of the upcoming election, he does not support any candidate or any political party at his rallies.

As the political candidates are traveling across the country, Graham insists he is giving a different sort of stump speech. In Phoenix he told his audience, “I’m running a campaign for God. Let’s get Him back on the front pages where He belongs.”

Graham has presented the Gospel and prayed with over 40,000 people during the Decision America Tour so far. His bus heads to Utah, Nevada, and California the week after Easter.

People interested in attending the Missouri Rally are encouraged to start within their churches. The Decision America team suggests that people organize to pray for the Missouri Rally. Transportation should be arranged for those who can attend on May 17. For those who cannot be in Jefferson City, churches in a community can come together to pray in a central location at noon as the Missouri Prayer Rally takes place.
