Do you currently hold the office for which you are running? No

What makes you the most qualified candidate for this position?

I am a life-long resident of the community and am a graduate of Delta Schools. I now am a mother of four children who will attend this district. It is my sincerest desire to see it succeed and improve with every opportunity.

I highly value education. I earned advanced degrees and attribute that to a strong foundation gained right here in this district. I want the same opportunity for all children of this community.

What do you believe is the greatest challenge facing your school district?

Delta, like most small districts, faces challenges. One of the most significant is being able to provide necessary instructional content and technology to allow kids to compete in society. Whether they choose college, trade school, or to directly join the work force, it is imperative they be prepared to compete with students from larger districts. School board members have to maintain focus on education while offering extra-curricular activities to create a desire to learn.

If elected, do you have any plans for improving the school district?

Yes, we need to open our governance of the school to staff and public input, and build a team mentality that supports the mission of our school. A unified effort is more likely to succeed than individual agendas.

I also plan to continue to educate myself on the school's APR (Annual Performance Report), testing expectations, goals and objectives. Even new programs like Response-to-Intervention and Positive Behavior Support could be effective in our school.
