Man charged in crash to appear in court today

The driver of a vehicle involved in a fatal accident in July is scheduled for trial today. John J. Kelly, 60, was charged July 29 with misdemeanor careless and imprudent driving. Documents filed in the case say Kelly ran a red light July 16 and struck another vehicle, causing the death of Florence James. James, 81, died later that day at Saint Francis Medical Center from injuries sustained during the accident.
