Escaping prisoner falls when knot in sheets slips
Thursday, September 24, 2015
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Two inmates at a Louisville jail could have used a course in knot-tying. Officials said the men escaped to the roof of a building Monday night and used a rope made of bed sheets to climb down about four floors. Metro corrections director Mark Bolton said Matthew Johnson, 29, was climbing down when a knot on the sheets came loose, dropping him about 20 feet. The second inmate, Christopher Cornelius, 37, didn't risk the climb and was found on the roof.
