Sara Koppenaal has been hired as an additional assistant prosecuting attorney for Cape Girardeau County, prosecutor Christopher Limbaugh announced recently. Koppenaal is a 2007 Jackson High School alumna. She graduated Southeast Missouri State University cum laude in December 2010 with a bachelor's degree in political science. During her time at Southeast, Koppenaal interned under former Cape Girardeau County prosecuting attorney Morley Swingle, according to a news release from Limbaugh. Koppenaal earned a juris doctorate degree from Valparaiso University School of Law in December 2013. From May 2014 to July 2015, she worked as an assistant prosecutor in Scott County.
