Sunday, July 12, 2015
The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States announced that William "Bear" Hudson of Cape Girardeau has achieved All American status as a Department commander. Hudson, commander of the Department of Pacific Areas, is one of only 17 VFW department commanders selected worldwide for All American Commander. The VFW is a nonprofit veterans service organization of veterans and eligible military service members from the active, Guard and Reserve forces. Founded in 1899 and chartered by Congress in 1936, the VFW is the nation's largest organization of war veterans and its oldest major veteran's organization.
