New Salem United Methodist Womens Unit

UMW met July 6 at 1:00 pm at the church. President, Joyce Brewer led the group in repeating the UMW purpose and asked the members to ponder the question "How do we equip women in leadership?"

We had 10 Sick and Shut-in Calls for the month of June and 4 cards to the sick and 6 cards to military personal serving in the states and overseas.

Roll call was answered by 8 members: "My favorite summertime activity".

Members brought boxes of tissues and hand sanitizer to be taken to the Oak Ridge School.

Joyce Brewer gave a report on ""Life After Trafficking" taken from the UMW Response Magazine.

Mrs. Brewer attended the Day Apart meeting at Piedmont June 13.

The School of Missions at Fayette will be July 23-26 and the District meeting at Sikeston, Oct. 17.

Our unit will serve refreshments at VBS this week July 6-10.

Program- Bible Trivia was led by Betty Henry and Verla Mangels and Karen McLane were hostess.
