Mississippi River Rising

A view of the downtown rooftops of Cape Girardeau, Missouri from the old, Fort A bluff, overlooking the Mighty Mississippi River. It should be cresting this week at approximately 43 feet. The beautiful Bill Emerson Memorial Bridge stands in the distance with exceedingly high river waters lapping at it's concrete pilings. Both floodgates (at Themis St. and Broadway) are closed to prevent flooding.
