Jackson High School Student Makes 2nd Trip to National High School Finals Rodeo

Erin Mantz finishes the year as IHSRA Reserve Champion goat tier and also qualifies for NHSFR in barrel racing and breakaway roping.

Erin Mantz, graduate of the Jackson High School Class of 2015, has earned a position on the Illinois National High School Rodeo team and will be traveling with fellow teammates to Rock Springs, WY, July 12th-18th to compete at the 67th annual National High School Finals Rodeo (NHSFR). She will be competing in three events at NHSFR...barrel racing, breakaway roping and goat tying.

She recently competed at the Illinois High School Rodeo State Finals in Altamont, IL where she was the State Finals Champion in both Breakaway Roping and Goat Tying. Her performance at State Finals culminated with a 3rd place year end finish in both Barrel Racing and Breakaway Roping in addition to earning her the title of Illinois Reserve Champion Goat Tier.

Rodeo has been a passion of hers since she started riding in 2009. She has been a member of Flickerwood Youth Rodeo and also was active in 4H Rodeo.

She has earned an athletic scholarship from Ft Scott Community College in Ft. Scott, KS. She will be a member of the girls rodeo team and will be competing at the college level in the Central Plains region.
