Rock 'n' Roll Church reaches different crowd

Ministry takes many forms, from traditional church services to contemporary style to formats like that of the Rock 'n' Roll Church.

A recent story in the Southeast Missourian about the church pointed to the many ways it is "reaching those on crack, full of cracks and in the cracks!" That's how Pastor Billy Garner described the church, which has a biker image mixed with classic rock.

"Jesus is the 'rock' of our salvation, and He said that 'upon this rock, I will build my church,' and the 'roll' is because we want to be a church on the move," Garner said.

But this church is not limited to those comfortable with Harleys and loud music. The pastor said they seek to connect those who feel disenfranchised from traditional church.

Their range of activities goes from helping at food pantries to hosting the Kids in Christian Karate School.
