Preventing Colorectal Cancer: Free Seminars in March

Colorectal cancer is deadly. Only lung cancer kills more Americans each year than this largely preventable disease.

Colorectal cancer does not discriminate. This disease affects men and women equally. Those diagnosed with the disease often experience no noticeable symptoms.

That's the bad news. The good news is that if everyone, aged 50 or older, underwent regular colorectal screenings, at least 60 percent of deaths from this cancer could be avoided.

Brent Keller, DO, of Southeast Gastroenterology will present two free, hour-long informational seminars, "Preventing Colorectal Cancer," in March.

The first seminar will be held on Tuesday, March 3, at 6 p.m. in the Harrison Room at Southeast Hospital, 1701 Lacey. The second will be held on Thursday, March 26, at 6 p.m. at the Dexter, Mo., Chamber of Commerce office, 515 West Market.
