Pohlman wins Voices of Democracy Contest

Kathy Dillahay of Perryville VFW Post 4282 presents a $125 check to Phoebe Pohlman, winner of the 2014 Voices of Democracy contest. Phoebe, a sophomore at Perryville High School, is the daughter of Paul and Jane Pohlman of Perryville. The theme for this year's essay was "Why Veterans are Important to our Nation's History and Future." Entrants must compose an original 3-5 minute essay and record it. "Phoebe did an outstanding job of addressing the topic," Dillahay said. For her efforts she received $125 and her essay was forward to the VFW district level for judging.
