Soprano Patti McPheeters Will Perform at Sounds of the Season

Sikeston, Mo., soprano Patti McPheeters will be one of the featured singers at the SoutheastHEALTH Foundation's Sounds of the Season benefit concert on Sunday, Dec. 7, at the Cape Bible Chapel.

McPheeters, who began her singing career at age 10, is best known for her soprano solos. She has been a featured soloist at many church functions and numerous weddings and funeral services.

She taught music in the Sikeston public schools for more than a decade. She also was a music teacher and vocal performer while living in Virginia Beach, Va., for eight years in the 1980s.

McPheeters' pure vocal quality and singing presence have been the hallmark of her ministry of music to her many friends in area churches of all denominations. She will perform the "Ave Maria" at Sounds of the Season.

In addition to McPheeters, the Sounds of the Season holiday concert will feature some of the area's most talented individuals and groups under the direction of Jerry Ford. Performers will include the Brothers Walker, a nationally known country duo from southeast Missouri; as well as Lauren Powers, Dr. Andrew Moore, Shane Steck, Academy of Dance Arts and the Jerry Ford Orchestra.

Seating will begin at 1:30 p.m. with entertainment by the Jackson High School Hand Bell Choir. The concert itself will start at 2 p.m. Tickets are a minimum donation of $5. Proceeds will benefit cancer patients through the Southeast Cancer Center Patient Experience Fund.
