Veterans Honor Service

15th annual Veteran's Honor Service, Sunday, Nov 9th at 11 am at First Pentecostal Church 3054 Lexington Ave. Cape Girardeau, MO 63701

The service consists of several components, tributes and participating professionals and Service support groups including, musical homages by Trumpeter Larry Herron [Army Veteran] a Flag Line by the Patriot Guard Riders, an antique military vehicle display by the SEMO Military Vehicles Group, an M.I.A. tribute and Flag ceremony presented by American Legion Post 63 and so much more. The church is decorated with an extensive military picture/profile display including over 90 military personnel from the Revolutionary War to the present, all connected to members of our church in some way. An Avenue of Flags will be on display, each dedicated to honor a US service member.

Our speaker this year is Dr. Daniel Blash. He is a decorated Desert Storm combat veteran of the US Army. Dr. Blash has given educational lectures and presentations in over 30 states and 5 countries, among other things regarding Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Blash is the founder and Clinical Director of Blash Counseling Associates and the Pastor of Fresh Anointing United Pentecostal Church in Florissant, Mo.

Many military service organizations will send representatives to this service such as the DAR, SAR, VFW posts of Cape & Jackson, members of the Society of the Descendants of Washington's Army at Valley Forge and the Disabled American Veterans, represented by WWII Veteran John Dragoni. We have been told that it is one of the top tribute services in Cape Girardeau/Jackson area. The service will be over promptly at 12 noon and will end with a receiving line of all veterans present.
