Newspaper to host wellness fair Wednesday

This community is a medical attraction for many. Across the area, people come to see doctors and receive treatment. There's a lot to learn about health care, and prevention and becoming knowledgeable is a good start.

This week the Southeast Missourian and Healthwatch Magazine will host their first Wellness Fair. From 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the J.C. Penney court of West Park Mall, people may come by and visit with a variety of professionals in the industry. Close to 15 vendors, many of which are listed in an advertisement that appears in today's paper, will be on hand.

A few of the free services at the fair include: grip testing, vascular screening exams, colon cancer awareness, hearing screenings and digital foot scans.

This newspaper seeks to play an active role in the community, and events like the wellness fair, along with our ongoing news and feature coverage, help people to be more informed and make positive changes.

Thank you to the medical partners who will participate in this fair. We hope you, our readers, make use of this opportunity to learn more about services offered close to home.
