VintageNOW combines fun fashion with a good cause

There are several events in the area each year that match good fun with a worthy cause. Count the VintageNOW fashion show as one of the best.

The fifth annual fashion show will be held Oct. 17 at the Osage Centre in Cape Girardeau. It's a 1950s theme this year. The doors will open at 6 p.m.

VintageNOW raises funds for the Safe House for Women, an organization that helps women facing domestic abuse. The show is hosted by Pastimes Antiques.

The 2013 event was sold out with more than 1,100 people in attendance. More than $40,000 was raised.

We believe this again will be a popular show, and if you're interested in attending, now is the time to reserve your tickets. Tickets may be purchased online at vintagenowfashionshow.com or at Pastimes Antiques. General admission tickets are $25 and may be purchased at the Safe House for Women Thrift Store. Runway tickets are $50.

Thank you to the organizers of this show, the volunteers and sponsors. To learn more about how you can help, call Jessica Hill at 335-7745 or email development@semosafehouse.org.

Thanks also to the Safe House staff and to churches and organizations that help those in need, including those who face abuse.
