Jesse James Day

Join us at the Bollinger County Museum of Natural History Saturday, September 6 for Jesse James Day.

At 1:00pm Dianne Moran will do a living history first person character portrayal of Zerelda James Samuel; Jesse James' mother. Ms. Moran is a well known presenter with the Missouri Humanities and does wonderful character presentations.

A Jesse James open forum will follow at 2:30pm. Bring your Jesse James stories to take part in the open forum.

Children's activities include a Jesse James Scavenger Hunt, western theme coloring sheets, western theme craft, and more.

About the presenter:

Dianne Moran has worked with children and wildlife for 35 years as a naturalist/storyteller (20 yrs. at the St. Louis Zoo). She lives in the Mo. Ozark Mts. She says her great love of nature and a fascination with the past have enabled her to create numerous historical personas. She makes all of the "artifacts" for her Sacagawea, Bird Woman program and enjoys performing her Environmental/Historical programs throughout the Midwest. Dianne was honored to perform as a Civil War Scholar for the Missouri/Illinois Humanities Councils Civil War Chautauqua. She has produced numerous storytelling tapes and also performs for the Mo. Arts Council, and Young Audiences of St. Louis where she received their Program Award for artistic excellency and educational effectiveness.
