Civil War Living History Day at the Bollinger County Museum

A Civil War Living History program with Jerry Lutes of Stones River National Battlefield and crews/cannons from Porters Battery will take place at the Bollinger County Museum of Natural History on Saturday, August 23, 2014. The primary focus of this program will be to demonstrate and discuss the use of artillery during the civil war, with programs on the hour. Between program times will be used to talk about Infantry, along with some musket firing demonstrations, and types of communications - Signal Corps, telegraphs, etc during the civil war period. Activities will start at 11am.

A copy of the planned schedule follows:

11:00 a.m. - Camp opens for visitors

12:00 Noon - Artillery program/firing demonstrations

12:30 - Signal Corps program/communication in the Civil War

1:00 pm - Artillery program/firing demonstrations

1:30 pm - Infantry discussion/musket firing demonstrations

2:00 pm - Artillery program/firing demonstrations

2:30 pm - Signal Corps program/Communication in the Civil War

3:00 pm - Artillery program/firing demonstrations

3:30 pm - Infantry discussion/musket firing demonstrations

4:00 pm - Artillery firing demonstrations

4:30 pm - Camp closes to visitors

Museum hours for August 23: 11am-4:30pm

Admission: Adults $5 and 17 years and under $2
