This cute little Davis DA-2 visited Cape's airport this past weekend, its pilot stopping for lunch at Sandy's Place on his way home.

The DA-2 is a classic homebuilt 2-seater, designed in the early 1960s. It carries it's pilot and a passenger at 110 mph, with a range of 450 miles.

This example is Serial #1, completed by Leon Davis in May of 1966.

When I was a kid, we called them "Baby Bonanzas" for their resemblance to Beechcraft's famous "V"-Tailed private aircraft.

This one is based east of St.Louis, and was not "Oshkosh Traffic" as I first suspected.
