BENTON, Mo. -- A Benton man is in custody for domestic assault, after reportedly choking a woman, the Standard Democrat reported. Travis Huckabay, 41, was arrested by Cpl. Justin Wooten of the Scott County Sheriff's Office at 6 a.m. Monday. Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter said Wooten was called to a residence shortly after 5:30 a.m. During an interview, the victim showed the deputy injuries that were sustained when she allegedly was choked by Huckabay. While Wooten was at the residence, the victim received a call from Huckabay. The sheriff said the victim put the conversation on speaker. "The deputy was able to listen. The deputy heard Huckabay admit to the assault," Walter said in a news release.
