City of Cape taking strategic look at park renovations

This area is blessed with many top-notch outdoor facilities. There are opportunities for bike rides, running and walking, fishing, Frisbee golf, baseball and many other attractions. During the warm weather months these are the places many enjoy.

A story in the May 23 edition of the Southeast Missourian highlighted several ongoing efforts to help renovate parks and outdoor facilities.

Samantha Rinehart reported the updates include Capaha Park, Melvin Gateley Vision 2000 Garden, Red House Interpretive Center, Southeast Missouri State University tennis courts, Cape LaCroix Trail, Cape Splash, a skate park, Cape Jaycee Municipal Golf Course and others. We encourage you to read about each project in the story online at semissourian.com.

The city has been strategic in the approach to making updates. We appreciate it.

If you are not already enjoying our local parks and public outdoor facilities, this is the time to start. Thank you to the city for its work to maximize these assets.
