No more taxes for fund

In regard to "Tax could benefit children's fund":When I read this in Monday's paper I was flabbergasted! It all starts in two places: First is the home, second is school, third is the individual.

If kids don't get proper upbringing at home they stand a very good chance of turning out bad or screwed up. More taxation and more government is not the cure.

The school system needs to be pressured to actually teach! In a nationally televised program an automotive mechanic said: "It's already been ran!" In online forums and comments I see "then" used a lot when the meaning is "than." "Busted" is used in place of "broken" (unfortunately the improper use of "busted" has found its way into dictionaries). It's like fingernails on a chalkboard. Idiots beget idiots and the trend continues.

The individual person is his own stronghold. If he's willing to recognize right from wrong and learn what is being taught he will succeed in spite of circumstances. OK, so the number of homeless kids in increasing. So what? Think of the Great Depression. I doubt if there were any counseling centers or psychiatric service agencies for that.

Our sales tax is already too high! I feel insulted by your adding this tax question to the ballot. I sincerely hope it fails. It's nothing more than bloated, liberal government.

Let the bleeding heart do-gooders throw their own money at this if they must -- leave me out!
