What is the biggest economic challenge facing Oran? What can be done about it?

The biggest economic challenge facing Oran is the lack of property available for purchase and development. We could repurpose existing structures or remove older buildings that are in disrepair to make room for growth. I feel businesses that may be looking at Oran for possible re-location might dismiss our town for this reason. If we are able to offer a nice locality with ample resources we will be able improve our economic growth.

What in your background or education makes you qualified for this office?

I have served as board President of the Perkins Volunteer Fire Department for eight years with great success. Under my direction, during this tenure, we were able to acquire grants to upgrade our communications equipment and fire gear. I would like to use that same drive and initiative to bring much needed improvements to the city while also maintaining the integrity and traditions that the citizens have always loved about Oran.

What infrastructure improvements would you like to see?

The infrastructure improvements I would like to see include; a user-friendly City Hall, State-of-the Art communications for our police and city employees, as well as better communication between the City and its residents. I think there are many other improvements within Oran that also need attention, such as; ditch cleaning and culvert repair, up-grades to our City Park, and a City-wide clean-up. Input from the citizens is always welcome and appreciated.
