What is the biggest economic challenge facing Oran? What can be done about it?

Our water and sewer systems are old and, in the not-too-distant future, will demand our attention. This will be a major project requiring grants and a bond issue. We will rely heavily on the Regional Planning Commission for their expertise in securing funding.

What in your background or education makes you qualified for this office?

I have past experience as mayor and alderman. I was one of the three initial persons to approach the City and file for the incorporation of the Industrial Development Authority. I have a current working rapport with Bootheel Regional Planning Commission, our city's engineer, and the Scott County and Missouri State Emergency Management Agencies.

What infrastructure improvements would you like to see?

We have some immediate problems with some streets and a bridge. Most every city-owned building is in need of some repair. I support efforts to renovate the MOPAC Depot to be used either as a Civic Center or City Hall. Alliance Bank building remains a strong option as City Hall. Once a move is made, renovate the Historic Old City Hall as a business incubator, renting small office space to new start-up businesses.
