Previous offices held or sought: I am currently completing my first term as a Delta School Board member.

What is the most important issue facing the Delta School Board? What can be done about it?

I have served one term as school board member. I feel the experience I have gain is making it possible to make the correct decisions for both the students and the school district. I feel the experience I have will help me carry on as a good representative of the school district.

What in your background or education makes you qualified for this office?

Graduated Delta High School in 1987, Southeast Missouri State in 1996 (Bachelor's of Science in Nursing) and Walden University in 2011 (Master's Degree in Nursing- Informatics).

Where do you stand on the issue of Common Core standards?

The transition to common cores will be a challenge but with the excellent teaching staff currently employed by the school system, I feel this change will be a positive one for both the students and the school district. As with any change, the job of the district school board is to do what is the best for the students and the school district.

Do you think the Delta School District is a good place for teachers to work? Why or why not?

The Delta school district is an excellent environment for teachers not only to start, maintain, advance and complete their teaching careers. I feel the school encourages and supports our teachers to continue and further their education.
