Comic Con, Home & Garden Show set for the weekend

Two major events will take place this weekend in Cape Girardeau.

About 1,200 people are expected to attend Cape Comic Con Friday through Sunday at the Arena Building in Cape Girardeau.

The annual event, now in its ninth year, has been a major attraction for the city. More than 100 tables of comics and merchandise will be on hand.

Past events have featured enthusiasts dressed as super heroes. The costumes are impressive and fun.

The Heartland Home & Garden Show presented by KFVS12 also is set for this weekend.

More than 100 exhibits will be displayed on two levels at the Show Me Center. Hours are 3 to 8 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Admission for adults is $5. Children 12 and under may attend at no charge.

These are two events are worth checking out in the coming days, offering entertainment for the entire family.
