A visitor to our ramp last week, this P-51D Mustang stopped in for fuel and a sandwich for it's pilot.

The 'D' model Mustang is identified by it's beautiful bubble canopy...more D's were produced than any other Mustang model. P-51's served in WWII, The Korean War, and with Air Guard Units throughout the 1950's, and with several other countries' air forces all the way into the 1970's.

According to it's data plate, this Mustang was manufactured in 1944. It's pilot was delivering the fighter to it's new owner.
